CEI 2021 Clan Animals

This year at CEI, students and teachers will be divided into clan groups. Clan groups are mixed groups with some students from each country and you will work with that clan group for various elements of the conference (games, icebreakers, brainstorming and more). Teachers are all placed together in one group. Each clan group is led by a clan leader (which will be revealed soon!).

This year we have chosen an animal to represent each clan and these have been drawn by Jana Cox, who also drew the CEI 2021 logo. These animals are native to Ireland and we have two per community featured in the conference:

1. Urban: red setter & squirrel

Each animal also has a direct translation in Irish.

Red setter = sotar rua (pronounced suh-tur-roo-ah)

Squirrel = iora (er-uh)

Seahorse = capall mara (cop – uhl – mar -a)

Puffin = puifín (puff -een)

Hedgehog = gráinneog (graw-nyog)

Bumblebee = bumbóg (bum-bogue)
