CEI 2021 Celtic Bards Workshop

One of the CEI 2021 Cultural Workshops was called 'Celtic Bards' and was run by our Celtic neighbours, the Scots Anne Marie & Chris Begg. The students learnt about the shared Celtic history of Ireland and Scotland, about what a bard was and what he did. They learnt through examples read by Chris before putting pen to paper and composing their own bardic poem detailing the heroics of themselves, their teachers or environmental heros. They recorded their poems to be shared with everyone as bards in the day didn't just write for themselves but would read their poems to their community. Well done to all participants - check out their poems below!

CEI 2021 Clan Animals

This year at CEI, students and teachers will be divided into clan groups. Clan groups are mixed groups with some students from each country and you will work with that clan group for various elements of the conference (games, icebreakers, brainstorming and more). Teachers are all placed together in one group. Each clan group is led by a clan leader (which will be revealed soon!).

This year we have chosen an animal to represent each clan and these have been drawn by Jana Cox, who also drew the CEI 2021 logo. These animals are native to Ireland and we have two per community featured in the conference:

1. Urban: red setter & squirrel

Millennial Podcast Workshop

During the CEI 2020 Conference, students came up with a millennial podcast sharing their views and discussing the issue of plastic bags in their countries. You can hear a snippet above but the full version will be available soon!

Great job all!
