The alumni are working hard with the CEI Indonesia Team to create an amazing Virtual Conference for everyone. One of the best parts about this format is that the conference will now be completely free of charge. So please use this opportunity to invite other interested parties to join CEI. Q. Why will the CEI conference be in a virtual format in 2020?
Due to the Corona outbreak and restrictions on international travel, unfortunately the planned CEI 2020 conference due to take place in Indonesia in July was cancelled. Instead the creative team of CEI Indonesia are working hard with CEI alumni to make a virtual version of the conference.

September 27th - October 3rd from 11.00-15.00 UTC or 18.00-22.00 WIB (Jakarta time).
You can also join us for the Pre-Conference on August 8th from 12.00-14.30 UTC or 19.00-21.30 WIB (Jakarta time)
Q. What is the Pre-Conference?
The Pre-Conference is a taster of some talks based around the conference theme. It will also include more information of what to expect at the actual conference. It will take place on August 8th from 12.00-14.30 UTC or 19.00-21.30 WIB (Jakarta time). Make sure to register using the registration form!
Q. Who is this conference suitable for?
The annual Caretakers of the Environment conference is for high school students and teachers who are passionate about the environment. At the conference these “Caretakers” present their projects, participate in workshops and learn about different environmental issues, discuss with each other and have fun. The conference welcomes all environmental activists and educators. If you are not a student or teacher you are welcome to join all aspects of the conference as an observer, the only difference is that you will not present a project.
Q. What is a project?
Students are encouraged to present a project concerning the theme of the conference. Please see our dedicated forum post about how to create a project for CEI This year we are aware that many students do not have that much time to put together projects. We therefore encourage you to:

Try a smaller scale project

Come to the conference and tell us what you plan to do and get feedback

Try a 48 hour project as part of the conference (more details to follow!)

Brainstorm and discuss with participants about projects you can do together
Q. How can I register to take part?

Some notes about registration:

If you’re under 18 years of age, you need to register as part of a delegation

A delegation is a student or group of students who are led by a teacher or youth leader

That teacher/youth leader is responsible for their students and securing permission for their students

The same registration form is also used for non-student organizations/individuals who would like to observe during the conference without presenting a project

Q.What digital forum will the CEI 2020 Virtual Conference be using?
We are partnered with Microsoft in Indonesia. When you register for the conference via our registration form you will receive a special login to access Microsoft Teams, enabling you to take part in the Pre Conference and full conference.
